Matchbox's Skoda - The Customs

Image from

Always one of my favorite 80s Matchbox castings. It was unique, had suspension, opening trunk and plastic inserts as front lights made up from the windows. We only saw one release of this casting so as I find them in the beater bins which is rare these days, I pick them up and lay a new color on them to add to my collection. Let's take a look at the original Matchbox release first:

The following are a few pictures of real Skoda sedans from this era in non-racing paint that I wish Matchbox would have also produced...

Now let's take a look at some of the customs I did many years ago...

And let's take a look at them all loaded up on the car carrier....notice the addition of the yellow and red models:

I hope you all find these to your liking. Let me know what you think.

  1. Very nice modifications! I had 2 with the #44 painting.
I'm not sure but I think this casting was launched in the late 80's when I was still in primary school. This model is also one of my favorite in my collection, with sharp body painting, opening trunk and suspension!
Thanks for sharing you great works!

    1. Thank you for posting your response. I appreciate it. Glad you liked them.
