AutoWorld 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix – Sneak Peek

05/29/2015
Mike Groothuis from AutoWorld wrote the following : "Happy Friday everyone! Things are cranking along while we wait for new tooling to be finished up and test shots to start arriving. So, in the meantime, here’s another sneak peek at a new upcoming casting. Again, as suggested by you, the collector, we decided to tool the 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix. This casting will have an opening hood to reveal the engine where we tooled two different air cleaners. It’s difficult to tell in the pics, but we are also replicating the distinct 8-lug rims are it came stock from the factory!
This casting will appear in release 4 due out later this year. Enjoy the sneak!! More to come!"

3inchDiecastBliss review: Simple - They hit this out of the Ballpark. Simply stunning and is my favorite new casting from them. I believe as the 1973-74 Dodge Challenger that this GP is a homage to Matchbox Lesney's #22. Now let's see some more views of this gem shall we:

Here is the Matchbox casting that I have handy, but they are all customs:

New majorette Porsche 911 GT3 RS Turbos Have Arrived

I have been picking up more Majorettes lately but they are still hard to find at decent prices. I have a few collectors friends who help me out but I am trying to get all variations of certain models such as the wonderful Porsche 911 GT3 RS. These six made their way to me from Thailand. I will post my others below as it looks like a may have a double or two...but no worries, those will be traded off quickly:0

Cheers,
Jeff

Kyosho Lamborghini Silhouette and Murcielago R-GT

Many of you may be wondering just what is Jeff doing with his Matchbox budget money since he is no longer a completest? Well, buying Welly, Majorette and now Kyosho 1:64. I do not plan on buying every Kyosho but will pick up ones I like in the $10-12 range. One of the things I like about them is they know when to use larger wheels in the back whether it be in width and/or diameter. The wheels are accurate, paint is great and most details are complete. However, one small area of improvement is that they should paint the inside of the side mirrors silver instead of using the body color. This is one area that I scratch my head about. These are too expensive for me to do that however easy it would be, so I leave them stock from Kyosho. I hope you enjoy.

Check out those wheels...Hot Wheels needs to take a lesson here. No need to make the rear wheel arches so damn large.

Matchbox Batches C & D

Hi...finally picked up a few Matchbox. I did skip a few as you will see under my new rules of collecting. Any still packaged are the ones I left behind. I hope you like the pics.

Awesome...

Nice license plate and logo details...

Great new model!!!

Nice rear details!

Welcome back to this awesome casting!

Love the rear:)

Not a model I like and will not buy many more, but the design was too nice this time around to leave it out of the collection...

Pretty nice...new model so I had to pick up but may be the only one I do.

Arms are VERY flimsy...I see this being modified SOON!

LOVE IT!!!

Cute...not sure how many more I will get but new model so had to get one.

Nice enough...

Classic Yellow...like it!

Almost stock but nice enough to get!

New model...only one I will ever pick up!

Hmmmm...so close to leaving it but I took one!

Never thought I would get more of these, but the design is pretty solid!

And the ones I left behind under my new non-completist rules:)

Never again will this model come home!
