Matchbox 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe in Stock and Custom Form

Finally I got my grubby little mits on this gem...found at Toys R Us in the new 'grab boxes' for $1.09. I really like the execution of the model but the wheels could have been more aggressive looking...and that is where I come in. I always keep one mint but like to buy a 2nd to detail and customize and that was the path I took here as well. I hope you like my interpretation of how I would have released this casting.

Added silver trim to grill and added red to Jaguar logo. My research online showed the silver detail is optional as many I saw did not have the trim highlighted.

Added silver to exhaust tips

While I like the stock wheels...wrong choice for this beast!

Had to detail the windows...too plain without it!

This is how they were found...very nice artwork and I love the box but....

Mattel 'GLUED' them shut...facepalm!

The Matchbox team could have sealed them in plastic wrap like Tomica does and still include the flaps but I digress. Until next time...

Matchbox 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk - Production and Custom Comparison

Production on left and custom on right of @matchboxworld's 2014 #jeep #cherokee #trailhawk with #bestofmatchbox type #realriders . In my opinion, this is the type of vehicles those wheels belong on, not #bmw and #mini #panelvans. Matchbox designers, create a new rubber wheel for street cars...can't be lazy...tell the beancounters to go pound sand please. This jeep casting is straight out awesome and not even a fan of the real thing. The new licensed castings are getting to be pretty nice so keep it up.

I also took the liberty to add details such as wipers, side windows, tow-hooks, fog-lamps and rear lower lights.

Details make all the difference!

Until next time, stay safe!

Cheers,

Siku Opel GT in Pictures

One of my all-time favorite Siku is this Opel GT. This one has an orange base. I had a non-painted base as well but it was either stolen or misplaced by someone. In any case, I hope you enjoy this post.

2016 Boxed Matchbox Models

Well...this is refreshing. I just wish the boxes were not glued shut (stupid). They could have sealed with clear plastic wrap like Tomica does! But, the boxes were nice to find. Toys R Us in the United States is the only major retailer carrying these so far at $1.09 a unit...not bad. Supposedly, the whole series will be produced this way...I have my doubts.

12 Released so far...

Glued shut in a plastic baggie

Jaguar...nice model

Jeep Cherokee Trail

2016 Schuco 1/64 Offerings

These are going to be quite nice...enjoy the pics...

Defender is awesome!

That BENZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnny Lightning's Jeep Grand Wagoneer

While I love the model, I was not loving the small rubber whitewalls. So I switched out tires from an older JL Jeep. Hope you like. The last pic is the one I settled on:)

While I liked this better, I wanted to keep the original rims so I switched rubber:)

I love the result

Til next time...

Custom Matchbox Ford Cargo with Phillips 66 Tanker

I hope you all like this one. I think the red Majorette wheels work really well here.
